HBO Original limited series The Penguin picks up where Matt Reeves left off with The Batman. Colin Farrell stars in the crime drama as Oswald “Oz” Cobb, otherwise known as the Penguin, alongside Cristin Milioti and Rhenzy Feliz.

At the end of The Batman, The Riddler was committed to Arkham and most of Gotham was flooded after the retaining walls around the city were blown up. The new limited series The Penguin takes place about a week after the events of that film,

HBO's "The Penguin" is set in the world of 2021 movie "The Batman," as Oz Cobb (Colin Farrell) tries to fill a void in Gotham's criminal underworld.

The titular character is not an umbrella wielding, whimsically rotund dandy named Oswald Cobblepot, as he has long been in the Batman world. He is now Oz Cobb, a shambling golem of a man, coarse and ruthless as he tries to claw his way to the top of Gotham’s criminal hierarchy.

Picking up right after the events of director Matt Reeves's 2022 film The Batman (which starred Robert Pattinson as the titular vigilante and introduced Colin Farrell as The Penguin's titular mafioso),
