A company has been fined more than a quarter of a million pounds after a 62-year-old worker fell and died during the construction of a new university building in Birmingham.

Construction giant Balfour Beatty has been fined £285,000 after a worker died during the building of a university facility. Igor Malka, 62, fell 10m to the ground while working on a scissor lift installing cladding for an engineering hall at the University of Birmingham.
