More than 120 women from countries across the world partook Saturday night in the 2024 Miss Universe pageant in Mexico City. But just one won the whole shebang: 21-year-old Victoria Theilvig of Denmark.

Victoria Kjaer Theilvig was crowned Miss Universe on Saturday, the first contestant from Denmark to achieve the honor.Marquez, 28, had earlier made history as the first mother to be crowned Miss Venezuela.

Many women made history at the 73rd Miss Universe competition on Saturday, including the oldest woman to compete and the first woman to wear a hijab.

Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark has been crowned Miss Universe 2024, becoming the first Dane to ever win the competition. The 21-year-old, a competitive dancer, entrepreneur, and aspiring lawyer, beat more than 120 other contestants to win the annual beauty pageant in Mexico City on Saturday night.

Kjaer, an animal protection advocate who works in the diamond selling business, beat out Miss Nigeria at the end of 73rd edition of the competition in Mexico City.

Theilvig, 21, is a dancer, entrepreneur and an animal-right advocate. With a dream of becoming a lawyer, she holds a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing.

Victoria Kjaer Theilvig is the 2024 Miss Universe winner. The 21-year-old from Denmark was crowned by Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua.
