Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, strongly denied U.S. allegations linking Tehran to an alleged plot to kill former President Donald Trump. Araqchi rejected the claims as fabricated and dismissed them as a "third-rate comedy.

The FBI is investigating Iranian efforts to destabilize the U.S., including a murder-for-hire plot to assassinate Donald Trump.

"The Justice Department has charged an asset of the Iranian regime who was tasked by the regime to direct a network of criminal associates to further Iran’s assassination plots against its targets, including President-elect Donald Trump," said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland in a news release.
