As of 8 a.m., Columbus Division of Fire crews were still fighting the blaze. Geitter said no injuries had been reported and that fire officials suspected no hazardous materials in the fire.

The Columbus Division of Fire is fighting a massive blaze that broke out early Friday morning on the southeast side of the city. According to Fire Chief Jeffrey Geitter, crews were called shortly after midnight to a scrapyard in the 2100 block of Alum Creek Drive,

The victim has been identified as 15-year-old Earkavion Lee, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan. “We believe he was shot getting off the school bus,” Bryan told the Ledger-Enquirer. Lee was pronounced dead at 5:15 p.m., Bryan said.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan identified the victim as 15-year-old Earkavion Lee. Authorities tell us the shooting happened in the 2300 block of Watkins Drive near Lamore Street around 4:30 p.m.
